ՍԱՆԿՏ ՊԵՏԵՐԲՈՒՐԳ — Ռուսաստանի մշակութային մայրաքաղաք Սանկտ Պետերբուրգում պաշտոնապես մեկնարկել է «Օրբելի-2026» միջազգային արևելագիտական ամառային դպրոցը։ Այս հեղինակավոր գիտակրթական նախաձեռնությունը, որն արդեն ավանդական բնույթ է կրում, միավորել է տարածաշրջանի առաջատար բուհերի երիտասարդ գիտնականներին ու արևելագետներին՝ նպատակ ունենալով ամրապնդել միջազգային ակադեմիական կապերն ու խթանել հայագիտության զարգացումը։

Գիտական երկխոսություն և Օրբելական ավանդույթներ

Դպրոցի իրականացման առանցքային նպատակն է ստեղծել միասնական հարթակ արևելագիտության և հարակից հումանիտար գիտությունների արդի խնդիրների քննարկման, ինչպես նաև նոր հետազոտական մոտեցումների փոխանակման համար։ Նախագիծը հատուկ առաքելություն ունի՝ հանրահռչակելու մեծանուն գիտնական, ակադեմիկոս Հովսեփ Օրբելու գիտական հարուստ ժառանգությունը և խորացնելու արևելագիտական առաջատար կենտրոնների միջև փոխգործակցությունը։

Այս տարի ամառային դպրոցի աշխատանքներին մասնակցում են Երևանի պետական համալսարանի (ԵՊՀ) արևելագիտության ֆակուլտետի, Սանկտ Պետերբուրգի պետական համալսարանի (ՍՊՊՀ) արևելյան ֆակուլտետի և Մոսկվայի պետական համալսարանի (ՄՊՀ) Ասիայի և Աֆրիկայի երկրների ինստիտուտի լավագույն ուսանողները, ասպիրանտներն ու երիտասարդ հետազոտողները։ Նրանց համար դասախոսություններով, սեմինարներով և վարպետության դասերով հանդես կգան միջազգային ճանաչում ունեցող պրոֆեսորներ և առաջատար փորձագետներ։

Ռոտացիոն ձևաչափ. Վանաձորից մինչև Պետերբուրգ

Հարկ է նշել, որ «Օրբելի» ամառային դպրոցն անցկացվում է շրջիկ (ռոտացիոն) ձևաչափով։ Նախորդ տարի՝ 2025 թվականին, նախագիծը մեծ հաջողությամբ հյուրընկալվել էր Հայաստանում (Վանաձոր քաղաքում)՝ ԵՊՀ նախաձեռնությամբ։

Գործընկեր համալսարանների միջև ձեռք բերված պայմանավորվածության համաձայն՝ 2026 թվականի գիտական հարթակի փոխանցումը Սանկտ Պետերբուրգին ունի նաև խորհրդանշական կարևոր նշանակություն։ Հենց այս քաղաքի, տեղի պետական համալսարանի և հանրահռչակ Էրմիտաժի հետ է սերտորեն կապված եղել Օրբելի եղբայրների գիտական ու հասարակական բեղմնավոր գործունեությունը։

Դպրոցի օրակարգում ներառված են ինչպես ինտենսիվ ակադեմիական քննարկումներ, այնպես էլ լայնածավալ մշակութային ծրագիր, որը մասնակիցներին թույլ կտա մոտիկից ծանոթանալ Սանկտ Պետերբուրգի թանգարաններում պահվող արևելյան և հայկական մշակութային արժեքներին։

ST. PETERSBURG — The "Orbeli-2026" International Summer School of Oriental Studies has officially launched in Russia's cultural capital, St. Petersburg. This prestigious, now-traditional scientific and educational initiative has brought together young scholars and orientalists from the region's leading higher education institutions, aiming to strengthen international academic ties and catalyze the advancement of Armenian Studies.

Scientific Dialogue and Orbeli Traditions

The core objective of the summer school is to establish a unified platform for discussing contemporary issues in Oriental Studies and related fields within the humanities, while facilitating the exchange of innovative research methodologies. The project carries a distinctive mission: to popularize the rich scientific heritage of the renowned scholar, Academician Joseph Orbeli, and to deepen structural cooperation among leading centers of Oriental Studies.

This year, the summer school's proceedings feature top undergraduate students, PhD candidates, and young researchers from the Faculty of Oriental Studies at Yerevan State University (YSU), the Faculty of Asian and African Studies at St. Petersburg State University (SPbSU), and the Institute of Asian and African Countries at Moscow State University (MSU). Internationally recognized professors and leading experts will deliver specialized lectures, seminars, and masterclasses for the participants.

A Rotational Format: From Vanadzor to St. Petersburg

It is worth noting that the "Orbeli" Summer School operates on a mobile, rotational framework. Last year, in 2025, the project was successfully hosted in Armenia (in the city of Vanadzor) through the direct initiative of YSU.

In accordance with agreements reached between the partner universities, transferring the 2026 scientific platform to St. Petersburg holds profound symbolic significance. It is with this very city, its state university, and the world-renowned Hermitage Museum that the prolific scientific and public activities of the Orbeli brothers were deeply intertwined.

The school's agenda encompasses both intensive academic discussions and an extensive cultural program, allowing participants to explore firsthand the Oriental and Armenian cultural treasures preserved within the museums of St. Petersburg.
